Strong backing for Aussie agents

Brian Horden, one of our industry bloggers, has returned from a holiday to Australia. He writes:

A wonderful poster on the door of Jetset Travel in Ballina, New South Wales:

"Without a Travel Agent, you're on your own"
And nicely endorsed by the AFTA (Australian Federation of Travel Agents).

A powerful message or not? What a debate this could create...

Yes, a powerful message, and a great topic for discussion, but I am afraid I will have to disagree with the slogan.

I've travelled to Australia in 2004 with Travelbag who are ABTA bonded and I never came across a representative, or received any documentation with contact details for someone who I could contact 'on location'

Had I booked the flights and accommodation myself I would of been in the same position, and possibly have a few extra pennies in my pocket.

Let the discussion commence! :)
