Well done to Thomas Cook, whose campaign for a new UK bank holiday has reached 100,000 signatures in just a week.

Public demand for a new public holiday is futher reflected by a separate campaign from GMTV and the Fabian Society.

The Thomas Cook press office released this comment from Manny after GMTV tapped Gordon Brown for an opinion on the issue...

The Thomas Cook Campaign for an extra bank holiday has really captured the public's imagination. In just over one week 100,000 Brits have signed our petition for an extra bank holiday and we believe we will reach 250,000 by the end of next week.

We're really pleased to see the Prime Minister taking note of the growing public demand for a new bank holiday and hope that our campaign will create the momentum to make this happen.

TW Blog urges you to sign the Thomas Cook petition if you haven't already...
