Madonna is in Buenos Aires for the South American leg of her 'Sweet and Sticky' Tour but took some time out to meet with Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and Ingrid Betancourt at the Casa Rosada Presidential Palace.
I did wonder at first why Colombian-French politician, anti-corruption activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Betancourt and Argentina's President Fernandez de Kirchner would bother meeting with Madonna.
Then I remembered!... Madonna played Eva Peron - Argentina's first lady and spiritual leader - in the film Evita, for which the 50-year-old singer won a Golden Globe for Best Actress
Madonna opens in Buenos Aires tonight at the River Plate Stadium - AKA El Monumental.
