The Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums house a magnificent collection of models from the start of the car industry to today. Architecturally, both buildings are stunning.
The Mercedes Museum has an impressive atrium where, should a fire break out, they can create a 'water tornado'.

The whole thing looks very James Bond, with grey stone walls and bullet-shaped lifts. The square outline on the left of that picture is for lifting cars in and out of the atrium. And speaking of cars...

The Porsche Museum features more than 80 vehicles, ranging from classic models to prototypes and concept cars. The museum also has a workshop where you can watch the technicians in action.

Judging by the 250,000 visitors the Porsche Museum has received in 5 months (they anticipated 20,000 for the first year) it will prove as much of a draw as the older Mercedes Museum.
