Continental Airlines has announced two new appointments to its Glasgow-based Scotland sales team.
Tom Sneddon has joined the company as area sales manager. Sneddon was previously an account manager with Travel2.
Emma Schrader has been appointed area sales executive. She moves from Edinburgh, where she was a member of Continental's airport operations staff.

SeaFrance Dover-Calais Ferries has appointed Phil Taylor as e-commerce marketing manager, to oversee the company's ongoing online development. Taylor will be responsible for the development of online strategies including a new SeaFrance website, viral internet campaigns and online marketing partnerships.
Taylor previously worked at Fred Olsen Cruise Lines and most recently co-founded the online consumer travel brand TravelOwl.co.uk.

Hannah Wilkinson has moved from Page and Moy's direct marketing team to its agency sales team. She is responsible for a new communications plan for the trade which includes monthly e-shots.

Daniel Reid is the new director of global sales - UK. Reid is based in the London office, his most recent role in the hotel sector was with Profile Marketing.

Jason Schellenberg is now director of leisure sales - Europe. Based in the London office, Schellenberg was previously golf sales and marketing manager at MacDonald Hotels and Resorts.
 
Bruno Chiaruttini is new area managing director - Continental Europe. 
 
Jonathan Newbury is new regional director and vice president of brand development - America Central.

Keisuke Kishi is now director of global sales - Japan.
 
Anna Jones is director of global sales - Northern California.

Virgin Atlantic has announced two new senior international appointments in South Africa and Nigeria. 
Richard Myerscough starts this week as country manager for South Africa, based in Johannesburg. Previously Myerscough was based in Virgin Atlantic's head office in the UK where he was sales distribution manager.
Nick Taylor has been appointed country manager for Nigeria, based in Lagos. Taylor previously held the position of sales and marketing manager in Lagos and prior to that was Airport Manager in Nigeria for Virgin Atlantic.

Continental Airlines has appointed Shelley Hinde as its marketing manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Previously, Hinde was marketing manager for easyJet, a position she held for one year as maternity cover. Prior to this, Hinde had a four year career at British Airways franchise carrier, GB Airways Ltd, rising to the post of UK marketing manager.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has announced the appointment of Eva Ziegler as global brand leader for W Hotels. In her new role, Ziegler will be responsible for leading the global development and growth strategy for W Hotels, which will triple its footprint by 2011.

Group travel specialist Newmarket Travel Service has appointed Peter Squires as head of sales and marketing. Squires previously held a range of senior positions at Travelsphere including groups sales manager. His new role will be to develop customer-focused sales and marketing strategies, enhance the range of services offered to group organisers and proactively manage a range of accounts throughout the UK. 

Kaleidoscope Travel Group, the parent Company of Travelsphere, Page & Moy and Just You, has appointed Gill Harvey as its new director of product and purchasing
In 2002 Harvey became managing director of escorted tours specialist Solos Holidays, and since June 2008 she has been managing director of companies Faraway Holidays and Malaysia Experience for the Travelzest Group.

Advantage Travel Centres has appointed Jason Peters as cruise product manager.
In addition to supporting Advantage on a consultancy basis, Peters also runs his own specialist cruise travel agency which he set up five years ago.
Previously, Peters worked for British Airways as cabin crew for 10 years progressing to purser and trainer. He then joined Princess Cruises as customer service officer for three years onboard ships, later entering the retail sector as a homeworker for a year before setting up on his own.
Cadogan has appointed Craig Upshall as its new head of sales.
Upshall, who joined Cadogan at the beginning of February, will be responsible for developing sales strategies and plans to maximise sales through travel agents. He will also lead the sales team in a number of new initiatives - closed user groups, leisure sales, and the development of sales agents overseas.
This appointment follows the recent internal promotion of Jane Wilkinson to head of marketing, responsible for all aspects of consumer and trade marketing, and internet and web developments.
Before joining Cadogan, Upshall held the position of national sales manager at Island Cruises.

NCL Freestyle Cruising has appointed Debbie Chambers as field sales team manager.
Reporting directly to NCL's sales director Nick Wilkinson, the newly created role will see Chambers manage the day to day operations of NCL's sales team. 
Most recently Chambers was national salon sales manager for beauty brand St Tropez.

Ipswich-based cruise line Fred Olsen has announced the appointment of Ole Christensen as director of hotel operations. Prior to joining Fred Olsen he worked for TUI Ski as regional general manager for its Crystal Club Hotels in France, Switzerland and Andorra.

TravelTainment has appointed Andrew Owen-Jones as its new chief executive. Owen-Jones has been managing director of TravelTainment since April 2008, together with Michael Kalt. Owen-Jones was responsible for international strategy in tourism travel business for Amadeus and he was a driving force in the TravelTainment acquisition in 2006. He has previously worked for Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Travelstore.

JAC Group has announced Terry Williamson is its new group chief operating officer. This is a new board position with the immediate focus on the day to day running of JACOB. Williamson has previously held senior positions at Cosmos and Thomas Cook.

JAC Travel (Group division) has appointed Claire Hayes as managing director. Hayes has worked with names such as BA Holidays, BA, Opodo and Pan European. JAC Travel is to focus on growth within its inbound group division.

Paul Conroy is now head of JACOBRES. JACOBRES is an online shop front for the travel trade to have access to its 4,000 plus hotels. Conroy's online experience includes eight years at Lastminute.

Holiday Extras has appointed Nilan Peiris as its new web and IT implementation director. Peiris joins Holiday Extras from Accenture, where he was a senior manager. He will be responsible for developing Holiday Extras' IT and system development teams and will work closely with director Matthew Pack. Previously, Peiris worked with Oxfam, Sainsbury's, BT and Sony.

Teletext Holidays managing director Matt Cheevers has left the company after three years.

It is believed sales and distribution director Victoria Sanders is to become managing director, according to Travel Weekly sister-title Travolution. Cheevers is understood to be leaving for a new consultancy position outside the Daily Mail and General Trust, owners of Teletext.

Cheevers joined Teletext as commercial director from lastminute.com in March 2006.
