Thandiwe Sylvia January-Mclean has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of South African Tourism (SAT). January-Mclean is currently the appointed South African Ambassador to Portugal. Her appointment as chief executive officer will be for a term of three years and will commence on January 1, 2010.
Lowcost Travel Group has promoted Tim Buckman to managing director of Resorthoppa, the group's transfer company. Buckman retains his responsibilities as sales director for the group, including Lowcostbeds, the group's trade bed bank. Buckman joined Lowcost in September 2008 as trade sales director following a 10-year career in the airline industry.
Travelport Limited has announced the appointment of Gordon Wilson as the company's deputy chief executive. Wilson will continue to serve as the president and chief executive of the company's GDS and IT services and software businesses.

Lloyd has spent the past 20 years at Travelsphere Holidays, and has been responsible for the development aof its cruise business.
Hays Travel has appointed Jenny Holmes to coordinate the company's ventures. Holmes was previously a project manager at First Choice, where she worked on the development of the retail travel systems alongside the operational side of the business.
