Focus Hotels Management Ltd has announced the appointment of Jeanette Nijhof as national sales director. The Focus Hotel group operates 13 three and four-star properties across the UK. Prior to joining Focus Hotels she held a national sales manager position at Barcelo Hotels.
Expedia director Alex Gisbert is to head up a new online partnership marketing team covering 12 countries in Europe, including the UK. The team will focus on marketing efforts across branded affiliates, display, metasearch, travel portals, affinity deals, social media and various other Expedia partnerships.
Key Travel chairman Ajaya Sodha has been elected to the position of board director for the ITM (Institute of Travel and Meetings). Key Travel is a travel management company dedicated to the not-for-profit sector.

 

Milica Chi web.jpgMSC Cruises has promoted of Milica Chi to business development manager, responsible for working with travel agents in Northern England and Northern Ireland. Chi joined MSC Cruises in 2007 as a reservation and operations manager.

 

Allvey, Mark web.jpgThe Oberoi Group has announced the appointment of Mark Allvey as vice president - sales and marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts. Allvey was the global director of sales and marketing for the Rocco Forte Collection. Previously, he was the vice president of sales for One&Only Resorts.

Hughes worked most recently at Affordable Car Hire where he held the position of sales and marketing director. During his career Hughes has also been head of sales at JTA, national account manager at Bourne Leisure and business development executive at Holiday Autos.
Travel Buddy, the mobile technology product from Mobiletrails, has confirmed that its marketing and sales director, Neil Herbert, is to leave the business. Herbert has been with the company for almost two years and is due to leave next week.
Choice Hotels Europe has appointed Ronnie Orr as operations manager with responsibility for supporting all UK-based Choice-branded properties in areas such as business planning, quality assurance and property improvements.
Celebrity Cruises today announced the appointment of Lisa Kauffman as vice president of marketing. Kauffman will lead the brand's overall marketing programme, including brand strategy and development, web marketing, research, loyalty and direct marketing, public relations and advertising. She will report to Celebrity's president and chief executive Dan Hanrahan.
Loris, Christos web.jpgAllbury Travel Group has appointed Christos Loris as general manager. Loris, who will report to the board, will be responsible for all operating activities. Eamonn Ferrin has stood down as chief executive. Loris has a range of travel-related experience and has worked for Best Leisure Group (Cypriana/Grecian) and Olympic Holidays.

 

Miller, Mark web.jpgThe Tourism Society has appointed Mark Miller as executive director. He will be responsible for developing a strategy and business plan, looking at collaborations with tourism bodies, and boosting membership in the UK and overseas. Miller has returned from overseas, where he has been for the past 12 years, working in senior travel roles.
