The new M Resort has officially opened in Las Vegas. This isn't your usual (if there is such a thing) Vegas megaresort.
It's one of the southernmost casinos in the area, 10 miles from the Mandalay Bay hotel, and is comparatively tiny at 400 rooms.
It's a much more toned down affair, with no celebrity chef restaurants or A list celeb magnet nightclubs. The hotel's developer Anthony Marnell is expecting most guests to come from nearby neighbourhoods rather than overseas.
Even more unusally, M Resort was finished early and - would you believe it - under budget.
A nice laid-back one for the locals, but for me you can't do Vegas without the glitz, glamour and total tackiness.
