The traditional student gap year is being hijacked by redundant city workers with loads of cash to splash.
The wake of the mass redundancies in the city has led to many workers deciding to take a break and do a bit of travelling according to the Independent today.
It's so comforting to know that while we 'normal folk' grapple with the fallout from their recklessness, desperately trying to cling on to our jobs, they are able, thanks to their payouts - which were no doubt just as obscene as their bonuses, to swan around the world in luxury.
Bitter though I may be, perhaps the silver lining is that, rather than backpacking around Thailand and sleeping on the beach, these chaps are used to the finer things in life and are doing the world trip in style, staying at nice hotels and eating at good restaurants.
A golden opportunity to take some of our cash back methinks...

Hi there, I just worship travelling to Thailand, my favourite place is chiang mai, but the flight is a bit too long.

Make no mistake. Some of us are born to shop and buy others we hate. I have always considered a member of the second group. Seriously, I would really rather go to the dentist in the mall is not that I am at people who look to go shopping love, in fact, there are times when I envy them. It seems the minds of many weeks before giving me (maybe because the Christmas decorations before Halloween), and seem always on the latest fashions, leather goods, jewelry and other accessories. It isn't bankers' big bonuses that are the problem, it's the fact that banks alone in society can make up legal tender that's the real, very little understood, problem.

I'm not convinced that the police caught on video smashing up a suspect's car with baseball bats should have been let off the way they did. Do we want Americanisms like that coming to the UK - I mean, they could at least have used cricket bats LOL!
