Hotel beds to take home

image003.jpg>

The new Dylan Hotel in Dublin is catering for guests who love their hotel bed so much they want to take it home with them.

So many people have asked where they can buy the comfortable 7th Heaven mattresses, the hotel had teamed up with the manufacterer so that guests can buy them from the hotel.

So are the beds really that comfortable? Look out for a review of The Dylan when I visit it next week....

Pampered pooches dine in style at the Hilton

paris250_250.jpg>

Dogs are more spoilt than ever these days, with their own ranges of designer clothes, jewellery and even furniture. And now they can holiday in style.

According to Hotel Chatter, the Rome Cavalieri Hilton has launched the Very Important Pet programme. Pampered pets can get away from it all with a day of spa treatments and a four course meal served in special Gucci dishes.

Paris Hilton - who was seen smooching her pet at Macys the other day - might have had something to do with this one.

Dylan hotel brings laid back luxury to Dublin

As everyone from the friendly staff to omniscient taxi drivers explain, Dublin is a city that's in a state of change. Trendy bars, restuarants and hotels are popping up everywhere, helping Dublin shake off its scruffy image.

For customers looking to experience this new dynamic Dublin, the Dylan Hotel is perfect. Each of the 44 rooms is individually designed by a charming couple called Eamon and Jacinta Courtney, who treated me and the other press visitors to a tour of the hotel. Each piece has been painstakingly selected, with some items journeying to Dublin from as far as Java.

Although the place is incredibly trendy and stylish, there's none of the pretentiousness you might find in some London boutique hotels.

The friendly and efficient service - as well as the charming black and white city portraits in the rooms - makes sure guests gain a feel of the warmth and tradition that Dublin has to offer.

How would you say 'do not disturb'?

distrub.jpg
US company Embassy Suites Hotels has announced the five winning slogans of its Do Not Disturb contest, where customers were challenged to come up with their own alternatives to the doorknob sign for sleeping - or otherwise occupied - guests.

The winner came up with the ingenious: "shhh! I'm hatching a plan to bust some little soaps out of here." He can sleep soundly at night knowing his sign is hanging from hotel room doors all over the states..

Those that came close were:

"Pillow fight in progress"
"There are days when I wish I could wear this around my neck"
"I've built a pillow fort and I'm not opening the door for anybody"
"Aw Mom, just five more minutes. Please?"

Nice wholesome entries from US travellers - I wonder what us Brits would have come up with...?
